خَدَعوها بِقَولِهِم حَسناءُ
وَالغَواني يَغُرُّهُنَّ الثَناءُ
أَتُراها تَناسَت اسمِيَ لَمّا
كَثُرَت في غَرامِها الأَسماءُ
إِن رَأَتني تَميلُ عَنّي كَأَن لَم
تَكُ بَيني وَبَينَها أَشياءُ

نَظرَةٌ فَابتِسامَةٌ فَسَلامٌ
فَكَلامٌ فَمَوعِدٌ فَلِقاءُ
فَفِراقٌ يَكونُ فيهِ دَواءٌ
أو فِراقٌ يَكونُ مِنهُ الداءُ
يَومَ كُنّا وَلا تَسَل كَيفَ كُنّا
نَتَهادى مِنَ الهَوى ما نَشاءُ

وَعَلَينا مِنَ العَفافِ رَقيبٌ
تَعِبَت في مِراسِهِ الأَهواءُ
جاذَبَتني ثَوبي العصِيَّ وَقالَت
أَنتُمُ الناسُ أَيُّها الشُعَراءُ
فَاتَّقوا اللَهَ في قُلوبِ العَذارى
فَالعَذارى قُلوبُهُنَّ هَواءُ
And the beautiful are tempted
Did she intend to forget my name
When many hearts fell in her love ?
Just a look then a smile, greeting ,
Talking , appointment and finally meeting
Farewell may be the medicine
Or it may be the cause of illness,
One day when we were , do not ask
How we were drinking love
From purity we have a guard
Desires got tired of its steadfastness,
She pulled my refusal tightly
Their hearts are mere light .
